Martha's Attic

We were having quite a bit of rain late this summer, this is one of my nineteen guinea fowl.  Guinea's do not like rain.

I recently found a nice collection of Palmer Cox "Brownies".  These are trade cards with his signature creatures in different military costumes.  They were put out by Dannemillers & Co., with their coffee.  You could collect the cards to spell Cordova, and turn them in as premiums to purchase items.  The information is on their backs.  These cards are in very good condition  -you can find them here .

  A very unusual item, a vintage stirrup cup in the shape of a nightcap!  It is available in my shop, you can find it here . 

A lovely little dish, made for children, this is a butter dish in the Horizontal Thread pattern by Lechler.  It is in very good condition considering it's age, and would go with a creamer, sugar, and possibly a spooner.  You can find it here .

Vintage child's punch bowl set in the Hobstar and Pinwheel pattern.  This is a reproduction, but the woman I purchased it from said it had been in her attic for 40 years.  It would be a great display piece, or an addition to your tea party.  It is a nice set in very good condition, you can purchase it here .

    A nice glass inkwell by W.L. Mason and Co.  But I cannot decide if the stopper is original.  It doesn't fit tight, just drops in, but I think it looks good.  If you're interested, you can find it here .

    A vintage marriage certificate contained in a blue suede snap folder, a "Bridal Token".  Dated 1941 from Martinsville, Virginia.  This item is available here .

  In researching this food cover, I only ran across one other like it, and this one is larger.  This is a very nice piece, also has a hole on the rim for hanging on the wall.  It is available for sale here , in my shop.
