Clover has found a comfortable spot on the back of the sofa! Check out those heavy duty back feet -she has a major stomp when something startles her.

Couldn't Find The Geese.........

Image
I went out with the camera yesterday morning intending to take pictures of the growing baby geese.  They don't look much like babies anymore, they are beginning to get their parents coloring.  But I couldn't find them, so I took a few pictures anyway. This fella let me get extremely close... You can see he wasn't worried about me at all. I really love the oak leaf hydrangea. And the daylilies. The lotus leaves don't come out until it's really warm for awhile. I made this shady spot last year with some flat stones we had left over.  It's nice and private. My sister has a curly willow in her yard, several years ago I took some cuttings from it, they are very easy to root in water, I now have three curly willow trees.

Entertaining Pets - The Cat Pulled From The Hat

Image
We share our house with a rabbit, Clover - suppose to be my sons, and a tortoiseshell cat, Milly.  In the beginning when I let Clover out for exercise, I didn't worry about Milly being in the room.  She would usually find a place to perch and just watch Clover.  After awhile Milly started getting this look in her eye that worried me, and they started chasing each other.  So I now shut Milly in another room when Clover is loose.  Occasionally strange things happen.  The other morning, I had let Clover out, she was running around and she disappeared under the hassock -is has flaps that reach the floor so it is a great hiding place.  Then, right after the rabbit went in -presto - a cat came out.  It was so funny, I laughed and laughed. O.K., so maybe you had to be here.  I do love to be entertained by my pets, sometimes they are the highlight of my day. Didn't I hear the dinner bell? Catnip high!

Easter Bunny Doll - Does She Look Like A Rabbit?

Image
I was in my doll phase a few years ago, I was trying to make a rabbit doll for Easter. I don't think I got the head quite right. She does have long ears, but I think I missed on the facial features, please tell me what you think -good or bad!!! I added the little chick, since it was for Easter..... I do like her dress, it came from some quilting fabric I had purchased. I just don't know about the face. I used a blue fabric for her legs for stockings, and painted on her shoes, with little pearl buttons for fastening.

My Furry Grandaughter

Image
My youngest son brought home a rabbit in early June. Of course being an animal lover, I immediately started taking care of her. Clover now resides in our living room. I can't imagine her living in my sons room by herself most of the time. She is a sweetheart, I let her out three times a day. I close off parts of the house and she can run around and kick up her heels, which she does very well. She will jump up on the sofa to be petted. She is just like a dog, she nudges your hand with her nose to keep petting her. I do put the inside cat away, they have played together before, but the cat began to chase her a little too much. Clover will flop on her side when she is very happy with her petting. I must get a picture of that one day. Rabbits can be trained to use a litter box. We have a large plastic container in her cage with cedar shavings in it. She occasionally chews on something she shouldn't but she understands the word "no". She really is a joy to have in the hous...
